A piece kept close deserves a little attention.
Silver
Silver darkens where it meets the air and softens where it meets the skin. Wipe it with a soft cloth. Store it in its pouch, away from humidity.
Thread and cord
Cotton softens with wear. Take thread bracelets off before swimming, and let them dry flat if they get wet.
Seeds and wood
Genitri seeds and sandalwood deepen in color with handling. Keep them away from water and perfume.
Stone
Volcanic stone is porous. Keep it dry and away from oils.
